Playing for Life Resource Kit & Companion Book Kit

The Playing for Life resource and companion book kit contains a variety of games and books designed to develop the skills of a range of sports and assist coaches, schools and sporting organisations to deliver sessions to participants in the Sporting Schools programme. Included in this resource are activity cards to teach children skills for net and court games, invasion games, target games and striking games, as well as, activities for warm-up, cool-down and forming groups. These are designed to help people with minimal sport experience to run activities that encourage all children to have fun, be challenged and learn while playing, regardless of their skill or background in sport.

Each card includes the following information about the activity:

  • equipment required
  • difficulty level
  • what to do
  • tips to change the game (to make it easier or harder)
  • tips for safety
  • whether the activity is indoor friendly or pool friendly
  • other activities that work well with the chosen card
