Learning Intention

Students will explore and further develop their understanding of the meaning of movement.

Activity A

Using the Procedure Pro Forma (U7L2R1), ask students to choose one sport that they play (or have played) and list the rules, necessary equipment and any other aspect of the sport including the Fundamental Movement Skills that are needed to successfully participate in the sport. They are then required to write a procedural text on how to play their chosen sport. The procedure needs to include the name of the sport, equipment needed, game objectives, scoring and step by step instructions on how to play a game.

Activity B

In small groups, the students then teach another small group of students the game by using the procedure that they have written.
